Xuppa.com (Bay9.com)

  • A referral program that pays 20% (only if the new advertiser gives you credit)
  • As an advertiser easy to navigate
  • Daily report feature
  • Pay per click banner advertising
  • Pay per click pop-up advertising
  • Ability to get front page placement under certain categories

  • Limited distribution partnerships
  • Not real organized
  • Distracting/noisy home page
  • Currently blanketed bids at .03 (this means you must bid a minimum of .04 for a #1 position)

Neutral - Based on low amount of traffic with not real high ROI. In recent months there has been a tremendous drop off in their total amount of traffic.

We would like to give them some credit for their alternative advertising solutions (i.e. pay per click banner advertising and pop-ups) but we have found two problems...

First, you cannot utilize a banner of your own. For instance, if you decide to purchase a run-of site banner campaign you are made to select one of their existing pre-made banners for the chosen topic (imagine... Your competitor using the same banner as you???).

Some might say "I don't mind that as long as it is targeted traffic." Well that brings us to our second point... The ROI on these banners is not much better, if any at all than their traditional PPC search solution.

Xuppa.com (used to be Bay9.com which used to be RocketLinks.com) currently seems to be putting a lot of effort into these alternative advertising solutions instead of building and maintaining the traditional PPC search solution business. That being said we see this PPC solution at a current state of downfall, but there is still some targeted traffic to be purchased through this one (just not a lot).
